About The Position
MedVet’s Emergency Clinician Mentorship Program (ECMP) is a paid program designed for new or recent veterinary graduates. It offers immersive, one-on-one training in emergency medicine, combining mentored ER experience with specialty rotations. The program aims to strengthen clinical skills and prepare participants for a full Emergency Clinician role within a multi-specialty organization. The program is structured into training phases: Direct, Indirect, and Independent, and includes specialty rotations in Critical Care, Radiology, Internal Medicine, and Surgery. Participants will also receive didactic training and access to medical journals and textbooks via OVID, as well as POCUS training.
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Licensed (or license-eligible) to practice veterinary medicine in the state of your assigned hospital
- Passionate about emergency medicine and continuous learning
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Two letters of recommendation from clinical faculty familiar with your skills and professionalism
- Pass a background check and drug screening
Responsibilities
- Participate in mentored ER experience.
- Complete specialty rotations in Critical Care, Radiology, Internal Medicine, and Surgery.
- Engage in didactic training and utilize provided medical resources.
- Undergo POCUS training.
- Develop clinical skills in emergency medicine.
- Transition to a full Emergency Clinician role upon successful completion.
