About The Position

MedVet’s Emergency Clinician Mentorship Program (ECMP) is a paid program for new or recent veterinary graduates seeking to begin a career in emergency medicine. It combines mentored emergency-room experience with specialty rotations and is designed to develop clinical skills through one-on-one support in a collaborative, veterinarian-owned and -led network. The program includes direct, indirect, and independent training phases; rotations in critical care, radiology, internal medicine, and surgery; didactics; access to medical journals and textbooks through OVID; and POCUS training. Participants receive a full doctor salary from day one, with salary plus production after the training period ends. After successfully completing ECMP, participants move into a full Emergency Clinician role within MedVet’s multi-specialty organization.

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of the assigned hospital.
• Passion for emergency medicine and continuous learning.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Provide two letters of recommendation from clinical faculty familiar with the applicant’s skills and professionalism.
• Pass a background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the program’s direct, indirect, and independent emergency-medicine training phases.
• Complete specialty rotations in critical care, radiology, internal medicine, and surgery.
• Take part in didactics and POCUS training.
• After successfully completing the program, transition into a full Emergency Clinician role.
