About The Position

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is seeking a board-certified, board-eligible, or residency-trained Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Specialist to join their collaborative emergency and specialty team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing hospital that is expanding its Emergency and Critical Care department, adding advanced imaging like MRI and fluoroscopy, and launching Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry services. The position is ideal for a criticalist who enjoys complex medicine, teaching, collaboration, and contributing to the development of an ECC service.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
  • Completion of an Emergency and Critical Care residency
  • Passed NAVLE, and if necessary, PAVES or ECFVG, prior to application
  • Board certification or board eligibility through the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) or equivalent
  • Massachusetts veterinary licensure, or eligibility to obtain
  • DEA registration and Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration, or eligibility to obtain both

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced care for hospitalized, emergent, and critically ill patients.
  • Work closely with emergency veterinarians, specialists, interns, residents, and experienced nursing staff.
  • Manage ICU and ER cases, including emergency receiving.
  • Manage complex and critically ill patients.
  • Collaborate across specialty services.
  • Teach and mentor interns, residents, and veterinary nursing staff.
  • Participate in the continued growth and development of the ECC service.
