About The Position

Amherst Veterinary Hospital is seeking a motivated, responsible, compassionate individual with a strong work ethic to join their team. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a compassionate approach to animal care, multitask, and be reliable. This role involves counseling and educating clients on animal care, explaining laboratory procedures, and handling animals in a way that makes them feel safe and secure. Weekend coverage, specifically Saturdays, is required. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Counsel and educate clients on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT.
Suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing in collaboration with the team.
Greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure.
Provide weekend coverage, including Saturdays.
