About The Position

St. Francis Animal Hospital is seeking a Part-time Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This is a fast-paced companion animal and exotics practice offering a wide range of services including preventative care, surgery, urgent care, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, ultrasonography, and boarding. The role involves direct patient care, client communication, and assisting with various medical procedures.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Must be able to properly restrain pets
Proficient in sample collection
Proficient in obtaining medical histories
Proficient in processing laboratory tests and radiographs
Proficient in anesthesia monitoring
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
