About The Position
VCA River is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their overnight emergency and ICU team. This role is at an AAHA-accredited emergency and specialty animal hospital in Chattanooga, TN. The hospital fosters a positive culture of trust, support, and teamwork, aiming to provide world-class medicine and hometown care. The Veterinary Assistant will support the 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care service by providing care, diagnostics, and treatments for patients.
Requirements
- Proficient in veterinary assisting duties.
- One or more years of veterinary assisting experience.
- Available to work some weekends to meet scheduling needs.

Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate patient care.
- Educate clients on patient care.
- Handle veterinary patients gently, safely, and effectively.
- Collect and process lab samples.
- Administer pharmacy and medications.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging.
- Assist with surgical preparation.
- Maintain medical records.
