About The Position
VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join its Emergency Team. The role supports high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care, including care for hospitalized pets. The schedule is full-time, consisting of four 10-hour overnight shifts per week, including at least one weekend day. The position is located at 3021 Edinger Ave, Tustin, CA 92780. Compensation is $20–$25 per hour and is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
Requirements
- Experience in veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities
- Maintain medical records.
- Prepare for and perform procedures and treatments.
- Prepare medications and prescriptions.
- Communicate with clients in person and by phone.
- Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Assist in procedures.
- Provide compassionate care and a home away from home for hospitalized pets.
- Assist in other areas of the hospital as needed.
