We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) departments in Oklahoma City. As an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Assistant, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and technicians in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. This role is ideal for individuals who remain calm under pressure, are detail-oriented, and are passionate about emergency veterinary medicine. You will be an integral part of a team delivering advanced care to critically ill and injured patients.

Requirements

Previous veterinary assistant experience required
Overnight and weekend availability required

Nice To Haves

Emergency, ICU, or specialty experience strongly preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
Comfortable working overnight shifts and weekends
Passion for emergency and critical care veterinary medicine

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient restraint, treatments, and diagnostics
Support emergency and critical care patient flow during overnight shifts
Prepare treatment areas, surgical suites, and diagnostic equipment
Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition
Collect and process laboratory samples
Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment and ICU areas
Provide compassionate support to clients and patients during emergency visits
Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining hospital readiness
