About The Position

VCA Desert Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join its team in Palm Springs, California. The role focuses on providing an outstanding client experience and compassionate care to patients, helping pet parents partner with the hospital for the lifelong care of their companion animals. The position is full-time, scheduled for four 10-hour days under an alternative work week, primarily Monday through Thursday; the schedule may change based on hospital needs. Compensation is $19–$24 per hour, depending on experience and education, and is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The Veterinary Assistant will use their veterinary knowledge and skills across patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, surgery, dentistry, radiology, laboratory work, venipuncture, catheter placement, pharmacy, patient recovery, client communication, and care of hospitalized animals.
