About The Position

Altitude Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. This versatile role includes patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. The successful candidate is dependable, motivated, effective at multitasking in a fast-paced environment, anticipates team needs, communicates professionally, and provides support throughout each stage of a patient visit. This is a full-time position with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday through Saturday. Saturday shifts are scheduled two to three times per month from 8 a.m. to noon. Compensation is $20–$24 per hour, based on hours worked. Altitude Animal Hospital is a four-doctor practice in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, focused on high-quality veterinary medicine, personalized and compassionate service, and a calm, supportive experience for pets and their families.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
Client communication and education skills.
Ability to assist with examinations, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures.
Experience with surgery setup and assistance.
Radiology positioning and safety protocols.
Medication administration and accurate drug calculations.
Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques.
Availability needed Monday through Saturday, including Saturday shifts two to three times per month from 8 a.m. to noon.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry.
Safely and gently handle and restrain patients during outpatient and procedural care.
Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
Clearly and compassionately review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients.
