About The Position
VCA Garden State Animal Hospital, a general practice in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join its 11-doctor team. The hospital has served the community for over 60 years and emphasizes excellent patient care, a positive client experience, and a supportive workplace that values each team member’s skills and personality. Experienced assistants and new graduates seeking mentorship are welcome. The primary focus of the position is exam room support. The Veterinary Assistant helps create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients, builds pet parents’ confidence through an outstanding client experience, and supports exceptional patient care. The role uses skills in compassionate patient care, client education, pharmacy and medication administration, lab sample collection and processing, diagnostic imaging, and medical recordkeeping. Applicants must have at least one year of experience as a veterinary assistant and be able to work nights and Saturdays. The stated salary range is $18–$22 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Provide exam room support.

- Provide compassionate patient care.
- Educate clients and support client care.
- Support pharmacy activities and medication administration.
- Collect and process laboratory samples.
