About The Position

Dade City Animal Clinic in Dade City, Florida, is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant. The veterinary assistant supports veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures; handles and restrains animals safely; administers medications and vaccines; collects laboratory samples; maintains accurate patient records; educates clients about pet care; and helps keep the work environment clean and organized.

Requirements

• Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
• Strong animal-handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to load rooms, take histories, place IV catheters, draw blood for in-house laboratory tests, and properly perform X-rays.
• Handle pets gently and calmly using fear-free techniques, and embrace client education.

Nice To Haves

• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred, or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
• A degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not required.
