Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
VCA Lakeside Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join its team in Fort Worth, Texas. The Veterinary Assistant supports the Doctor and Technician teams by helping create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients and delivering an outstanding client experience. The role includes assisting with patient care and routine procedures, supporting hospitalized animals, maintaining accurate medical records, and keeping the hospital clean and safe. The position is scheduled for four 10-hour shifts with rotating Saturdays and pays $20.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Restrain patients and assist with examinations and routine procedures.
- Take detailed medical histories and patient vital signs.
- Fill prescriptions as permitted by law.
- Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Provide compassionate care to hospitalized animals.
- Maintain medical records.
- Assist Doctors and Technicians as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment.
- Help create a positive, low-stress experience for clients and patients.
