About The Position

Woodside Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to partner with veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality care to patients and their owners. The role involves varied hands-on work across appointments, procedures, radiographs, laboratory testing, and surgery. Responsibilities may vary according to hospital needs and the employee’s experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned duties. The position is full-time, typically scheduled four days per week, with weekdays and some rotating Saturdays. Pay is $18–$20 per hour, based on experience and skill set.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-exam check-ins and gather patient history.
Educate clients about their pet’s care and next steps.
Maintain thorough and accurate electronic medical records.
Handle and restrain patients safely and calmly during examinations and treatments.
Run basic in-house laboratory tests.
Assist veterinarians and technicians with appointments and procedures.
Take radiographs (x-rays).
Assist in surgery and clean, pack, and prepare surgical supplies.
Fill prescriptions after obtaining pharmacy clerk certification.
Clean and restock the hospital.
