Requirements
- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques.
- Ability to perform basic laboratory tests.
- Familiarity with veterinary software and record-keeping.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Compassion and dedication to animal welfare.
- Physical ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Experience with specific veterinary software (e.g., AVImark, Cornerstone).
- Familiarity with Fear Free or Low-Stress Handling techniques.
- Experience in a specialty or emergency veterinary setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures.
- Provide compassionate care to animal patients.
- Perform laboratory tests and analyses.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed.
- Maintain medical records and ensure accurate documentation.
- Educate pet owners on animal care and treatment plans.
- Clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment.
- Handle animal restraint and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Assist with surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Perform diagnostic imaging such as X-rays.
