About The Position

PetCare Animal Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support veterinary care for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic pets. The hospital has locations in Blue Ash and Loveland and provides care in a modern, fully equipped facility. The role involves assisting with patient care and treatment, laboratory work, diagnostic imaging, hospitalized cases, and surgical procedures. The position offers opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of Veterinary Assistant experience is preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team-oriented, able to multitask, and a strong communicator.
• Able to properly restrain pets.
• Self-starter with a desire to advance knowledge and skills.
• Able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises and potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze laboratory samples.
• Perform diagnostic imaging.
• Manage and provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability.
• Administer medications.
• Communicate treatment plans effectively to clients.
• Prepare for and assist with surgery.
• Manage anesthesia.
