About The Position
The Veterinary Assistant supports patient care at Livewell Animal Hospital of Salmon Creek by assisting veterinarians and technicians with hands-on care and helping ensure animals are treated with compassion and respect. The role supports an efficient, collaborative clinical workflow and contributes to a positive client experience through scheduling, payments, and communications. It also includes maintaining the hospital, performing clinic upkeep, and maintaining equipment to support a safe, clean environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Calm, efficient approach and ability to work with composure in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Confidence and skill handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills, including laboratory, pharmacy, nursing, and radiology.
Responsibilities
- Assist the medical team with hands-on patient care.
- Anticipate and support the needs of veterinarians and technicians to help maintain a smooth, efficient, collaborative workflow.
- Assist clients with scheduling, payments, and communications in a courteous and informative manner.
- Maintain the hospital and perform clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance.
- Handle pets of different sizes and temperaments.
