Cats Only Veterinary Hospital is a long-standing cats-only hospital located in beautiful Rocklin, California with deep ties to the community. Our feline medical facility provides quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family. We are currently looking to hire a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves cats and being part of a fun, supportive team. Cats Only Veterinary Hospital aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their felines and our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care. We strive to give our customers the best personalized service possible and to create a friendly, professional work environment for our awesome staff!
Requirements
- 1+ years of veterinary experience
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Full-time or part-time veterinary assistant with a minimum of 1 year experience in animal handling and treatments.
- Must be available for a 10-hour Monday shift and a 5/6-hour Saturday shift
Nice To Haves
- Experience rooming patients
- Surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used
- Knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning
- Understanding the importance of client education
- Being a positive and motivating team member
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients

- Drawing blood
- Running bloodwork
- Knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning
- Proper feline handling and restraint
- Client education
- Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
- Blood draws
- Placing IV catheters
- Sub-Q / IM injections
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint (Not opposed to scruffing)
- Works at a fast, efficient pace
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
