About The Position

Experienced Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing compassionate patient care, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment, and ensuring excellent client service. This position requires strong clinical skills, teamwork, professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary hospital.

Requirements

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience.
Able to administer vaccines, oral meds, SQ / IV / IM injections.
Able to perform IV catheter placement.
Able to perform venipunctures.
Able to monitor anesthesia.
Able to perform basic in-house laboratory tests such as bloodwork and SNAP tests.
Able to obtain quick and thorough history from owners.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, including treatments, procedures, and observations.
Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding patient care, medication administration, and veterinarian recommendations.
Prepare treatment plans and cost estimates based on the veterinarian's recommendations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in general practice, urgent care, or emergency medicine.
Fear Free® certification.
CPR/RECOVER certification.
Experience with AVImark and IDEXX.
