About The Position

Skeet Club Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to work alongside veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide animal care and customer service. The role includes assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries; handling animals; supporting laboratory and medication tasks; maintaining records; communicating with pet owners; and keeping the clinic clean and well stocked. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM; Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM; and rotating Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The salary is $16.00–$20.00 per hour, based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Requirements

Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting is required.
Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
Perform basic laboratory tests, including collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
Administer medications and vaccinations under a veterinarian’s supervision.
Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
Maintain accurate medical records.
Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
Clean and maintain the clinic, stock supplies, and ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
