Relief Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant in Olympia, WA! As a Veterinary Assistant, you will provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values. You will report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds. You will understand the classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitor therapeutic response. You will administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. You will perform physical exams; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. You will possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications. You will remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
