About The Position

Harbor Point Animal Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina, is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant. The hospital provides companion-animal wellness care, surgery, and dentistry, and uses fear-free handling. The assistant helps keep appointments on schedule by preparing exam rooms, reviewing charts, calming and weighing patients, supporting exams, and anticipating the medical team’s needs. The role also supports welcoming, informative client experiences.

The schedule is four shifts per week, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with about one Saturday every four weeks. Holiday shifts are not required. Compensation is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience and role alignment.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a veterinary setting.
• Experience with patient restraint and exam room support.
• Availability for four shifts per week from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including about one Saturday every four weeks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and review patient charts before appointments.
• Calm, weigh, and safely restrain patients using fear-free handling practices.
• Support veterinarians and the medical team during exams and routine wellness visits, including vaccines and checkups.
• Anticipate the medical team’s needs to help appointments stay on schedule.
• Help clients feel welcomed, informed, and well cared for.
