About The Position

VCA Colonial Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our general practice team. Our hospital is a 24/7 hybrid specialty hospital located in the beautiful finger lakes region of upstate NY. In this position you will be supporting both our doctors and staff within the general practice team while also spending time in our client service area to support the client experience. Your role will support creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.

Responsibilities

• Greeting client and completing patient assessment
• Maintaining medical records
• Checking in and checking out clients
• Preparing treatment plans and discussion with owner
• Filling prescriptions
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Providing compassionate care for hospitalized pets
• Supporting medical procedures
• Medical records and billing
• Scanning and uploading
