About The Position

Seeking a Part Time Veterinary Assistant to join the VCA Animal Healing Center Team. This is a fast-paced, multi-doctor practice offering a holistic approach to medicine, including acupuncture, laser therapy, homeopathy, and Chinese herbs, alongside conventional services like routine healthcare, dental care, and surgical procedures. The practice emphasizes a team-oriented approach to patient care, encouraging technicians to utilize their skills, think critically, and further their knowledge. Requirements

• Documented previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Flexibility in hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
• Deliver an outstanding client experience to win the confidence of pet parents.
• Utilize knowledge and skills in veterinary assistance.
• Perform venipuncture.
• Maintain medical records.
• Fill prescriptions.
• Perform catheter placement.
• Assist with radiology.
• Conduct physical examinations and patient assessment.
• Prepare for and assist in surgical procedures.
• Perform laboratory work.
• Manage pharmacy.
• Monitor patient recovery.
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients.
