About The Position

The Veterinary Assistant supports patient care and the medical team at Westonka Animal Hospital. The role involves hands-on care for animals, assisting veterinarians and technicians, supporting client scheduling, payments, and communications, and maintaining the hospital and equipment. The position calls for compassionate, respectful animal handling and the ability to contribute to an efficient, collaborative clinic workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Confidence and skill handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills, including laboratory, pharmacy, nursing, and radiology.

Responsibilities

• Assist the medical team with hands-on patient care, treating animals with compassion and respect.
• Anticipate and support the needs of veterinarians and technicians to help maintain a smooth, efficient, collaborative workflow.
• Assist clients with scheduling, payments, and communications in a courteous and informative manner.
