About The Position

VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic veterinary Assistant to join our growing Overnight ER care team full time! Credentials desired but not required. At VCA we strongly believe in training and development for all employees! Our team is collaborative, supportive, and progressive and we want to give you the opportunity to expand your skills and follow your dreams at our 24-hour Emergency & Specialty hospital. VCA CAVES also works with multiple local wildlife rescuers and rehabilitators to provide care to nature’s most wild, and most in need. We have had the pleasure of assisting hawks, eagles, owls, turtles of all shapes and sizes, fawns, opossums, wild turkeys, porcupines, snakes and more! If you are ready to be a well-rounded veterinary technician, CAVES is the place for you!

Requirements

• Candidates must be positive and motivated.

Responsibilities

• Collecting patient histories & physical exams
• Medication refills, and Pet parent communication
• Proficient in medical calculations
• Venipuncture / IVC placement
• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Providing compassionate care for all patients
