About The Position

Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Receptionist for a hybrid role. This position involves cross-training to work at the front desk, provide client care, and assist in rooms as a Veterinary Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to multitask, a willingness to help the team and patients, and prior experience in animal handling and customer service. The clinic's mission is to promote happiness through healthy pets, offering both conventional and integrative health care options with a Fear Free/Low-Stress Handling approach. Services include diagnostics, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, and more.

Requirements

• Prior experience in animal handling
• Prior experience in customer service
• Strong ability to multitask
• Willingness to help the team and our patients wherever needed
• Great communication and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Time management and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
• Strong computer and phone skills
• Knowledge of preventative care and vaccines

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Check clients/patients in and out of appointments
• Handle cash and process payments
• Obtain diagnostics - including radiographs, phlebotomy, and sample collection
• Provide safe and effective patient handling and restraint
