About The Position

Madison Veterinary Specialists is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ophthalmology Assistant to join our growing Ophthalmology Service. This position supports a busy two-doctor specialty service dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and client service. As an Ophthalmology Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring appointments, procedures, and surgeries run efficiently while helping provide an outstanding experience for both patients and their families.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of veterinary assistant experience required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced specialty environment
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Interest in ophthalmology and specialty veterinary medicine

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and patients for appointments
• Assist with patient handling and restraint
• Support a busy appointment schedule for a two-doctor service
• Communicate with clients and provide patient care education
• Prepare and maintain operating rooms for ophthalmic procedures
• Clean, organize, and maintain surgical and medical equipment
• Provide meticulous care and handling of delicate ophthalmic surgical instruments
• Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining department organization
• Support doctors and nursing staff to ensure efficient patient flow
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records as directed
