Veterinary Client Service Representative, Maritime
About The Position
Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre (MVESC) is seeking a passionate Veterinary Assistant/Client Service Representative to join their team in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. This role is the first point of contact for clients and their pets, focusing on client experience and maintaining a welcoming environment. The position is client-facing and front desk-focused, emphasizing smooth communication, compassionate support, and is considered a vital role within the hospital, not a stepping stone. MVESC delivers high-quality emergency and specialty care to pets in the greater Halifax Regional Municipality.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a veterinary hospital or emergency setting strongly preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team environment
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and handling sensitive client information
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service and communication
- Greet clients and pets warmly upon arrival
- Handle emergency situations with confidence and care
- Manage multi-line phone system and respond to client inquiries
- Provide updates to clients on pet status and wait times
- Present treatment estimates and process payments
- Support patient admissions, discharges, and medical recordkeeping
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital
- Collaborate closely with medical teams to support patient care
- Additional administrative or support tasks as needed
