About The Position

Friendship Hospital for Animals, a leading AAHA-accredited hospital located in Washington D.C., is seeking an experienced and capable veterinary assistant to join our Anesthesia team. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, working closely with the specialty anesthesia and surgery teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, fear-free restraint of canines and felines for IV catheter placement, assisting with induction, shaving and prepping for a variety of surgeries, setting up ORs, cleaning, and restocking. The hospital welcomes all skill levels and offers opportunities for continued skill development and growth in the field.

Requirements

• Previous experience in veterinary medicine preferred
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Able to multi-task and works well under pressure
• Great communication skills
• Willingness to learn and grow

Responsibilities

• Fear free restraint of canines and felines for IV catheter placement
• Assisting with induction
• Shaving and prepping for a variety of surgeries
• Setting up ORs
• Cleaning
• Restocking
