About The Position

Merrifield Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited small-animal practice serving Fairfax, Virginia, since the 1950s. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join its collaborative team. The practice treats dogs and cats and operates as a standalone hospital with four exam rooms. Surgical, dental, and treatment areas were recently renovated, with a hospital renovation noted for 2026. The hospital offers onsite boarding and Doggie Daycare, has no on-call responsibilities, and is supported by a long-tenured licensed veterinary technician and a 2:1 assistant-to-doctor ratio. An AAFP Cat Friendly Practitioner is on staff. Doctors see an average of approximately 15 patients per day, with 30-minute appointments to allow time for thorough care.
