About The Position

Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time veterinarian to join its three-doctor team in Oviedo, Florida. The hospital has served East Orlando and the Oviedo area for more than 20 years and is part of the OrlandoVets family of four hospitals. The role offers opportunities to build long-term relationships with established clients and their pets while practicing a varied mix of medicine. The caseload includes wellness and puppy and kitten care, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, allergy and dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care, and laser therapy. The hospital cares for dogs and cats and also provides vaccinations, spay and neuter care, and urgent and emergency care. Doctors work collaboratively and have colleagues available to discuss cases. Partnership pathways may be available to candidates interested in practice ownership through Veterinary Practice Partners. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays and Sundays closed. The team will work with the veterinarian to develop a schedule that fits their life. The position is located at 2985 Alafaya Trail, Oviedo, FL 32765.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an accredited institution.
Valid veterinary license in Florida, or ability to obtain one.
DEA license, or ability to obtain one.
Comfort with a mix of wellness, dental, soft tissue surgery, and urgent care cases.

Responsibilities

Provide veterinary care across wellness and puppy and kitten care, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, allergy and dermatology, internal medicine, and urgent care.
Treat dogs and cats, including providing vaccinations, spay and neuter care, laser therapy, and urgent and emergency care.
Collaborate with the three-doctor team and discuss cases with colleagues.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and their pets.
