About The Position

30th Street Animal Hospital is hiring an Associate Veterinarian to join its collaborative small-animal general practice in Indianapolis, Indiana. The practice welcomes new graduates, including the Class of 2027, as well as experienced veterinarians. It offers a modern, well-equipped facility, experienced support staff, a diverse medical and surgical caseload, and flexibility to practice high-quality medicine while considering each client’s circumstances. The role offers a four-day workweek, rotating half-day Saturdays, no on-call responsibilities, and no major holiday coverage. Doctors typically see approximately 15 patients daily in 30-minute appointments, with a dedicated midday block for lunch, records, callbacks, procedures, and collaboration. The hospital has an approximately 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio, experienced support staff, and a dedicated floater. The 6,000-square-foot hospital includes six exam rooms, a two-table surgical suite, separate canine and feline treatment areas, an isolation ward, and surgical recovery space. Available technology and equipment include IDEXX in-house diagnostics, digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, EKG, therapeutic laser, advanced anesthesia monitoring, electrocautery, and active surgical suction. The practice also uses EzyVet, Weave, and ScribbleVet AI. Its caseload includes preventive and wellness care, internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, ultrasound, and soft tissue surgery, with emergency and specialty referral relationships when needed. New graduates receive an individualized first-year mentorship program with extended appointment times, side-by-side clinical training, supervised surgical and dental experience, regular mentor meetings, progress evaluations, and gradually increasing clinical independence. Experienced veterinarians can practice with clinical autonomy, pursue professional interests, contribute to hospital protocols, mentor newer doctors if interested, and explore leadership or partnership opportunities. The role also offers access to professional development and leadership resources through Veterinary Practice Partners.
