Requirements

  • DVM/VMD degree and eligibility for Ohio licensure
  • Interest or experience in shelter medicine, surgery, or community care
  • Passion for animal welfare and client communication
  • Collaborative mindset and interest in teaching/mentorship

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care for shelter and community animals
  • Perform spay/neuter, dental, and soft tissue surgeries
  • Support population health and complex case management in a diverse shelter environment
  • Teach and mentor veterinary students as adjunct faculty (clinical rotations & externships)
  • Collaborate with a supportive, mission-driven medical team
  • Contribute to cruelty investigations through medical documentation and expert input
