This position combines clinical practice with classroom, laboratory, and clinical teaching responsibilities, ensuring compliance with program accreditation standards and course learning outcomes. The faculty member actively participates in curriculum development, assessment, program governance, student advising, professional development, and community engagement, while supporting departmental and college initiatives. The role also includes evening and weekend on-call responsibilities and requires proficiency with instructional technologies and online learning platforms. This position starts in August 2026. The Veterinary Technology Program at Austin Community College prepares students for successful careers as Licensed Veterinary Technicians by providing high-quality education aligned with national and state credentialing standards. The program emphasizes critical thinking, sound decision-making, and the development of essential clinical skills needed to function effectively in veterinary practice, research, and related professional settings. Through a comprehensive curriculum that includes classroom instruction, laboratory training, and supervised clinical experiences, students gain hands-on preparation in animal care, surgical assistance, medical treatment, and laboratory procedures. Graduates are well prepared to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Examination and state licensure exams and to enter the veterinary workforce with confidence.
