About The Position

Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinarian, Medical Director for its AAHA-accredited small animal and exotics general practice in Windham, New Hampshire. The hospital describes its culture as Conscious Care®, a culture-centered approach focused on compassion for colleagues, clients, patients, and the community. It is partnered with Alliance Animal Health and maintains strong local leadership. The role combines clinical practice with leadership and mentorship. For three days each week, the Medical Director sees appointments, performs surgery and dental procedures, and provides veterinary care. One day each week is devoted to mentoring newer veterinarians and leading weekly two-hour hospital rounds. The Medical Director works with the Customer Experience, Technician, and Veterinary Assistant teams to support collaboration and high-quality care. The position is scheduled for four 10-hour days, Monday through Friday, on either a Tuesday–Friday or Monday–Thursday schedule, with no weekends and a three-day weekend. A personal assistant checks patients in and out and monitors task lists, and the hospital says it aims to keep appointments on schedule so the veterinarian can leave on time. The hospital closes for two hours each week for rounds and training led by the Medical Director. The hospital is seeking an experienced, confident clinician and natural mentor with strong diagnostic and client communication skills and an understanding of practice operations.
