Medical Director - Veterinarian

AmeriVet•San Diego, CA
•$170,000 - $190,000

About The Position

Mission Valley Pet Clinic is seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead its general-practice veterinary team. The clinic sees an average of 16 patients per day, has three registered veterinary technicians and knowledgeable veterinary assistants and client care specialists, and handles wellness, surgery, and dentistry cases. Its equipment includes digital X-ray and dental X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratories, a state-of-the-art surgical suite, and laser therapy. The Medical Director is the practice’s clinical leader and medical voice, responsible for setting high standards for medical quality, patient care, client experience, and team culture. The role combines hands-on clinical practice—most of the time is spent providing direct patient care—with leadership, mentorship, and medical oversight. The Medical Director partners closely with the Practice Manager to guide care delivery and hospital operations, develop the veterinary team, and support practice performance and business goals. The Medical Director supervises associate and partner doctors and serves as the Responsible Veterinarian when required by applicable regulations. The position requires a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week. The posting advertises an annual salary of $170,000–$190,000 plus production incentives, based on 30 hours per week, as well as a monthly Medical Director stipend. Relocation assistance and sign-on bonuses are available.
