About The Position

South Shreveport Animal Clinic is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Co-Medical Director to join our established small animal veterinary practice in Shreveport, Louisiana. We're looking for a personable and motivated DVM with 3+ years of clinical experience who is passionate about patient care, team development, and helping shape the future of a thriving community-focused practice. As Co-Medical Director, you'll have the opportunity to provide clinical leadership while maintaining an active caseload, mentor and support fellow veterinarians and support staff, collaborate on medical protocols, patient care standards, and hospital initiatives, promote a culture of teamwork, learning, and accountability, help drive hospital growth while preserving the compassionate care our clients value, and balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on veterinary medicine.

Requirements

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Louisiana
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical veterinary experience
  • Passion for client education and preventive medicine
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in mentoring and supporting fellow team members is a plus
  • Interest in surgery, dentistry, and soft tissue procedures
  • Orthopedic experience would be an added bonus
