Foothills Animal Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its established small-animal practice in Lakewood, Colorado. Founded in 1979, the hospital provides comprehensive veterinary medicine in a welcoming, family-style environment and has served the community for more than 40 years. The hospital offers preventive and wellness care, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, ultrasound, general and orthopedic surgery, acupuncture, laser therapy, and other services. The role offers an experienced veterinarian autonomy to pursue clinical interests and opportunities to continue professional growth. The position's stated pay range is $115,000–$140,000 per year.

Requirements

DVM or VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of diseases or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect diagnostic samples, and interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventive care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Counsel pet owners on end-of-life care for their pets.
Maintain patients’ medical records.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
