About The Position

Join our team at the Camp Florence Youth Transition Facility as a VESOY Coordinator! This role helps prepare older youth in the Vocation Education Services for Older Youth (VESOY) program for successful futures by providing career exploration, workforce development, and hands-on learning opportunities. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and employers, this position connects youth with meaningful work-based learning experiences that build the skills, confidence, and experience needed for long-term success. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; OR Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.
  • Driver License Required: Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
  • Experience teaching career and technical education curriculum and administering assessments.
  • Has knowledge and network of businesses that are willing to offer youth work experience.
  • Must be able to research and navigate the internet.
  • Able to motivate youth toward their post secondary education goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience engaging and supporting vulnerable youth population in correctional, residential, or community-based settings.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and coordinating vocational training programs.
  • Skilled in documenting individual progress, and program outcomes.
  • Experienced in facilitating interactive, hands-on training sessions that promote skill development and participant engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure vocational programming is delivered consistently, with adequate hours and meaningful opportunities for participants.
  • Maintain the health, sustainability, and ongoing growth of Work Crew programs.
  • Recruit volunteers to share work experiences and possible career opportunities with the youth.
