About The Position

This position serves as a subject matter expert responsible for all activities involved in the planning, implementation, administration, oversight, evaluation, and reporting of workforce development grant programs and student service initiatives at the Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC). This includes the administration of state and/or federal funds for programs including, but not limited to, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The role involves working closely with students, instructors, employers, and community partners to coordinate services, remove barriers to success, and improve employment outcomes. Additionally, the position will plan and support student engagement activities and other initiatives that enhance the student experience. This role offers an opportunity to combine program leadership, grant management, and direct student support.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Alaska Residency Requirements must be met.

  • Competencies in Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
  • Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or progressively responsible experience assisting with planning, coordinating, and implementing administrative controls, work processes, and/or procedures for a program, project, business, or organization.
