About The Position

The Division of Insurance is recruiting for a Program Coordinator 2 located in Anchorage or Juneau. The Program Coordinator 2 will function as a subject matter expert in state flexibility waivers under Section 1332 of the Affordable Care Act. They will collaborate with internal staff, staff of other agencies, key vendors and stakeholders in order to manage the day to day details around the coordination of Alaska’s Section 1332 wavier proposal. This individual will provide public outreach, support during the legislative session, and policy development that will improve access to high quality, affordable health insurance for all Alaskans.

  • Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or progressively responsible professional experience developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing a program, project, business, organization, or major components of a program, including having administrative authority over the program/project funding, staff, and/or overall operations.

  • Insurance: Knowledge of various types of insurance, insurance regulations, claims processing, examination, adjudication, or adjustment.
  • Legal, Government, and Jurisprudence: Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, legal practices and documents, Government regulations, Executive orders, agency rules, Government organization and functions, and the democratic political process.
