About The Position

OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITY Program Analyst 1 – Vocation Education Services for Older Youth (VESOY) Coordinator Albany, OR – Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility/Jackie Winters Transitional Program (JWTP) Join our team at the Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility as a VESOY Coordinator! This role helps prepare older youth in the Vocation Education Services for Older Youth (VESOY) program for successful futures by providing career exploration, workforce development, and hands-on learning opportunities. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and employers, this position connects youth with meaningful work-based learning experiences that build the skills, confidence, and experience needed for long-term success. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; OR Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.
  • Driver License Required: Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
  • Experience teaching career and technical education curriculum and administering assessments.
  • Has knowledge and network of businesses that are willing to offer youth work experience.
  • Must be able to research and navigate the internet.
  • Able to motivate youth toward their post secondary education goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Has the ability to implement, monitor, and assess career and technical education assessments, work programs, and curriculum.
  • Experience recruiting volunteers to share their experiences/trades and educating youth on possible career tracks
  • Experience assisting with the transportation and supervision of youth or other client populations during off-site educational, vocational, employment, recreational, or similar community-based activities.
  • Experience performing these duties within the Department of Corrections or a juvenile justice setting is preferred.
  • Must be a positive role model for other staff and youth.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and administering the Career and Technical Education program for VESOY youth.
  • Building and maintaining VESOY work programs on the Oak Creek Campus.
  • Facilitating and teaching NIOSH training and Safety Vignettes in collaboration with Unit Leadership Teams.
