About The Position

The Vendor Licensing Agent is responsible for conducting background investigations in connection with the licensure or registration of individuals and entities doing business with or otherwise affiliated with the Quapaw Nation of Oklahoma’s gaming operations. The Vendor Licensing Agent reports directly to the Deputy Director of the QNGA and is responsible for adhering to all applicable background investigation and licensing policies and procedures as required by the Quapaw Nation Gaming Ordinance, Nation gaming regulations, and the Nation-State Compact.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of two-year college education at an accredited college or university, preferably in public administration, accounting, business, or management. Educational requirements may be waived based on any combination of education, professional training, or relevant experience in gaming licensure which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and policies and procedures.
  • Must be proficient in writing routine reports and business correspondence.
  • Strong communication skills are a necessity for this position.
  • Must be able to speak effectively before groups of employees.
  • Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; reach with hands and arms; write, review, and type reports; compile data; operate a computer; communicate; listen; and assess information.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
  • Must be organized, have excellent typing skills, and be highly proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Quickbooks, and other data programs.
  • All applicants are subject to a background check, including criminal history and confirmation of professional references.
  • Employees must pass a pre-employment drug screen prior to commencing employment and may be subject to random drug testing during employment.
  • All QNGA employees must agree to a Confidentiality Agreement with the QNGA and/or the Nation as a condition of employment with the QNGA.
  • All QNGA employees are expected to follow the Nation personnel policies and procedures of the Quapaw Nation of Oklahoma.
  • QNGA employees are prohibited from participating in any gaming activities or promotions at any of the Quapaw Nation gaming facilities.
  • In addition, QNGA employees are prohibited from handling any matter in which the subject of the matter is a member of his or her immediate family or an entity in which he or she has a pecuniary interest.

Responsibilities

  • Determines type of license and/or registration required.
  • Receives and maintains sensitive and confidential information and files.
  • Reviews and verifies information provided on vendor license and registration application forms and obtains additional information from applicant as needed.
  • Conducts background investigations to determine the applicant’s suitability for licensure, including but not limited to: Investigations of personal, business, and credit histories; Confirmation of business bank and trade references; Review of professional and other licenses; and Verification of business incorporation and status.
  • Makes recommendations concerning an applicant’s suitability for licensure.
  • Monitors vendor compliance with renewal and update requirements.
  • Assists in the investigations of incidents or alleged violations.
  • Maintains all files and records for auditing purposes.
  • Monitors and maintains vendor database and tracking system.
  • Provides security departments with approved vendor lists.
  • Issues and tracks all vendor badges.
  • Reviews vendor access logs daily.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
