About The Position

The Vendor Compliance Specialist drives implementation of new flow paths, manages strategic initiatives and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and improves vendor performance and accountability through hands-on vendor management. The role works with Merchandising, Retail, Planning and Inventory, Accounting, Distribution, Transportation, and International and Domestic Supply Chain teams to implement processes that influence vendor behavior, improve performance, and support Bass Pro Shops business goals. The specialist develops and maintains process documentation, vendor performance reporting, and compliance resources; educates vendors and internal teams; and leads process improvement initiatives. The role also supports testing and implementation of business projects affecting EDI, promotes EDI utilization, and helps ensure compliance with the Bass Pro Shops Vendor Manual and Supply Chain Initiatives. Travel to vendor locations may be required to facilitate, audit, monitor, and implement improvement plans and strengthen vendor relationships.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
2–4 years of experience in a related role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and e-signature programs.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Illustrator.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with various levels of leadership.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Regular computer work and sitting; occasional walking, standing, and lifting.

Nice To Haves

Basic knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

Responsibilities

Improve vendor performance and compliance to maximize profitable operations.
Analyze issues to identify root causes and define, implement, and manage preventive measures, including new processes, Bootcamps, vendor onboarding, testing, and chargebacks.
Create, develop, and maintain process, procedure, and vendor performance documentation.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support current and future business needs while aligning practices with industry standards and business requirements.
Conduct vendor performance assessments with internal stakeholders and implement specialized programs to meet priorities and objectives.
Educate vendors on performance and compliance objectives; recommend and drive improvement plans and strengthen vendor partnerships.
Develop internal teams, including EDI, Merchandising, Retail, Planning and Inventory, Accounting, Distribution, Transportation, and International and Domestic Supply Chain teams.
Train teams on day-to-day compliance with company policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with the Bass Pro Shops Vendor Manual and Supply Chain Initiatives.
Promote internal and external growth and utilization of EDI to improve vendor performance and compliance.
Develop, execute, and distribute standard, exception-based, and ad hoc performance reports to support decision-making and vendor performance.
Lead process improvement strategies with internal and external teams to increase supply-chain efficiency and standardize vendor performance and accountability.
Support testing and implementation of key business projects that affect EDI.
Travel to vendor locations as needed to facilitate, audit, monitor, and implement improvement plans and build collaborative partnerships.
