About The Position

Amazon is seeking a talented Vendor Manager (VM) to join its Amazon Fresh Grocery team. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships and setting the strategic direction for the business. The ideal candidate will have experience in buying, marketing, and/or finance, demonstrating successful relationship management, strong analytical acumen, and proficiency in generating and managing reports and analysis. Essential skills include great communication and a strong understanding of Excel. The position requires a self-starter who can take ownership of projects and business problems to achieve successful results. The environment is fast-paced and requires flexibility, detail-orientation, analytical skills, and comfort working with multiple teams, vendors, partners, and management.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
  • 2+ years of market research analyst, product manager, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of doing one of several roles: quantitative/financial analysis, retail buying, retail planning & allocation, product/project management, pricing, marketing or e-commerce experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of doing one of several roles: management consulting, investment banking analyst/associate, or brand manager role at leading consumer packaged goods company experience
  • Experience in financial analysis, retail buying, retail planning & allocation, product/project management, marketing, business development, consulting, negotiation or supply chain

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic negotiations with large vendors and represent Amazon when meeting with senior leaders
  • Develop long-term strategies and significantly influences cross-category plans
  • Work cross functionally, both within Amazon and the strategic vendor, and implement scalable, simple and automated solutions to address customer pain points
  • Create opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, and brand- building for multiple sub-categories
  • Audit metrics regularly, determine and prioritize business opportunities, identify risks and make recommendations to pursue
  • Identify industry trends and develop innovative marketing and merchandising initiatives to support growth
