About The Position

TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair, and maintenance service provider for Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base. We are currently looking for experienced Vendor Analysts to join our growing team in the Airdrie depot location. Reporting to the Manager, Projects, the Vendor Analyst is responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day operation of the Vendor Coordinators, as well as developing and maintaining closer ties to the repair vendor base to improve communications and turn-times.

Requirements

  • 3 years related experience or a combination of education and experience that allows the individual to adequately perform the role, determined by the Manager or VP, Projects.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Expedite work performed by subcontractors on the repair of components to ensure turnaround times meet business and production needs.
  • Ensure all subcontractor repairs are at the best possible negotiated price & turnaround time, and in accordance with any contracts between the third party and TCT.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships at a senior level.
  • Review vendor performance on a quarterly basis and produce reports detailing turnaround times, price, and quality in accordance with any previously set KPIs.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to Vendor Coordinators and Vendor Data Administrator. Act as escalation route for any issues.
  • Provide Vendor Coordinator role coverage during vacation and sickness absences.
  • Monitor and approve vacation requests for team members, ensuring adequate coverage is maintained to provide continued support.
  • Assess team members on a continual basis and support in performance reviews.
  • Participate in and contribute to weekly Projects and Production meetings.
  • Proactively identify new potential vendors and suppliers and assist with creation in ERP system.
  • Proactively identify cost saving solutions for vendor repairs and part purchases.
  • Coordinate vendor and supplier visits to TCT.
  • Provide preparation and support for external TCT visits to vendors and suppliers.
  • Support in the negotiation of vendor and supplier contracts.
  • Monitor and report on vendor and supplier volume discounts.
  • Monitor vendor volume levels to proactively identify constraints that may affect TCT’s ability to execute current or future work. Provide recommendations to mitigate potential impacts.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and communicate future volume forecasting to external vendors.
  • Adhere to strict ethical behavior at all times and immediately report any concerns to management.
  • Increase knowledge of the HSE Policy and Manual and maintain a positive attitude towards the health and safety of myself and my coworkers.
  • Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for HSE.
  • Other duties as directed by the Manager or VP, Projects.
