Vehicle Technician
About The Position
Halfords is hiring an experienced Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles. The role involves carrying out complex tasks such as clutch and timing-belt replacements, as well as diagnostics and repairs involving vehicle electrics, brakes, steering, suspension and engines. The position offers on-target earnings of up to £43,100, comprising a base salary of £34,000–£36,000 and an uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £7,100 per year. The role is five days a week, and the business is closed on Sundays. Halfords offers opportunities for career progression, hybrid training and access to ATA and MOT Tester qualifications. Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, or time-served experience.
- Full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points.
- Experience as a technician/mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work on brakes, steering/suspension and engines.
- Ability to perform complex repairs and replacements, including coolant/diesel injectors, head gaskets, brakes and electrical work.
