About The Position

The Vehicle Personalization Product Engineer is responsible for the design and release of accessories offered either as optional production content or offered through dealer channel sales. The engineer leads the technical development process from program start through production launch. This includes supporting or leading activities in sourcing, design, development, testing and manufacturing. The engineer will establish component and system targets and specifications appropriately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s (B.S) degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering Field
  • 3+ years of experience with in-vehicle calibration
  • 2+ years of experience with ATI Vision / INCA / Matlab

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience with in-vehicle calibration
  • Experience with Ford ECU and calibration methodology
  • Experience with Dyno testing and calibration methodologies
  • Experience with vehicle features, MFAL codes, ordering complexity
  • Review and understand vehicle content assigned to a program per the Program Direction Letter (PDL)
  • Capable of identifying product content in vehicle CAD environment, building CAD buck environment.
  • Experience in WERS for searching part numbers, release levels and usage
  • Technical aptitude, desire to learn test tools and technologies
  • Possess a can-do attitude and interest in automotive vehicles and customer experience in customization
  • Strong team player, ability to work with multiple suppliers, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility.
  • Detail oriented self-starter and problem solver.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration and release vehicle ECU files that are offered as optional vehicle content or in post-sale dealer channel environment.
  • Develop core engineering foundation documents (FMA, Boundary Diagrams, Interface Diagrams, DFMEAs, Robustness Check Lists, SCCAF).
  • Develop and execute design verification plans (DVPs) , engineering deliverables and provide engineering sign-off.
  • Release parts using Ford WERS as required and provide final engineering sign-off documentation.
  • Lead compliance to Ford requirements, DVP&Rs, and sign-offs
  • Creation and development of the necessary documentation for CARB EO approval
  • Creation and maintenance of accessory bill of materials for all vehicle lines
  • Interface with suppliers, planning, program management, vehicle programs, vehicle operations and others.
  • Interface with other PD engineers for systems engineering and interfacing commodities.
  • Investigate and develop ideas for new product offerings.
  • Support Dealer Service questions on accessories as required.
  • Work with Supplier and/or Core teams to support design rules, requirements, and core foundation documents (Boundary Diagrams, Interface Listings, P-Diagrams, DFMEA’s, Robustness Check Lists, SCCAF
  • Perform Carryover Assessments for products using VSEM, TCe, WERS, WOW, PDO, iPDL
  • Coordinate and complete Cost, Feasibility, and Timing (CFT) for all projects.
