About The Position

The Vehicle Operator Bus Aide operates assigned vehicles to transport authorized personnel or cargo from loading areas to destinations, training locations, or other locations as directed. The role operates cars, trucks, vans, and buses, and includes riding the school bus with children as a bus aide during morning and afternoon school runs on days when school is in session. The position participates in the DOT Program, maintains a professional appearance, and requires flexibility in scheduling. This is a full-time, flex, onsite role at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.

Requirements

Able to lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with “P” and “S” endorsements.
Possess and maintain current DOT medical certification.
Receive refresher training as required.
Receive and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

Drive assigned vehicles to transport passengers and cargo to locations within and outside the military installation.
Operate cars, trucks, vans, and buses.
Ride the school bus with children as a bus aide on days when school is in session.
Operate a radio or similar device for communication.
Clean vehicles and service them with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
Maintain accurate records of trips and passenger behavior.
Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
Complete vehicle operator inspection documentation.
Perform pre- and post-trip procedures for assigned vehicles and complete required documentation.
Immediately report vehicle discrepancies.
Participate in a DOT program.
Maintain a professional appearance and work a flexible schedule.
Accept all dispatched runs while on shift, regardless of seniority.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
